High School Seniors: Now is the time to get your college applications done. Deadlines can be as early at October 15th!

Important things to do this month…
- Ten Tips for Making the most of September 2025
- Visit colleges in person and online for tours, information sessions and online events. Register for the next NACAC College Fair on Sunday, September 14th.
- Register for the SAT and ACT exams. Here are the upcoming test dates.
- Start compiling your activities, starting with 9th grade, into a resume. Use the resume builder in Naviance under About Me or create your own with this Sample Student Resume.
- Starting in 9th grade, you can register at Raise.me to earn college micro-scholarships and sign up to get College Board Opportunity Scholarships.
- HS seniors, start working on your college essay. Here’s how to Plan Your College Essay. Platinum members: send your draft in a Google Doc to Jan.
- HS Seniors, ask two academic teachers for letters of recommendation. Help them out by sharing information about yourself. Use these guidelines for ideas.
- HS Seniors, narrow down your college list and start working on your Common App. Use this College Application Spreadsheet to keep track. Contact Jan with an update and for guidance.
- HS Seniors, some of your colleges may require the Self-Reported Academic Record.
