Important things to do this month…

Dear College Channel members,

Congratulations to our high school graduates! We are so proud of you. We wish you a great summer and a wonderful future ahead!

Here are some things for all of you to focus on this month:

  1. Here are your Ten Tips of the Month
  2. Congratulations to our HS Seniors! We are so proud of you. Check out their Final College Choices. If your name is missing, please give us an update.
  3. Seniors: Here’s a checklist with your important next steps to college
  4. Here’s a packing list to get ready to move on campus
  5. Juniors, continue to research colleges that interest you and contact Jan for a personalized college list.
  6. Juniors, this is a great time to start brainstorming your college essay. Notice that there is an optional Covid-19 Statement. Platinum members, send us a rough draft through Google Docs or set up a time with Jan to brainstorm your essay.
  7. Juniors, set up an account and start filling out the Common App. Your saved information will roll over when the new application opens on August 1st.
  8. Juniors, ask 2 academic teachers for letters of recommendation and use this Recommender Form to help them write an impactful letter
  9. Keep up your test prep! Method Learning is offering special deals in June. Contact Tom Ehlers at 516-695-7067 or email tom@methodlearning.com. Tell him you are a College Channel member.
  10. Remember to use your online test prep!
  11. Athletes, if you want to play a varsity sport in college, read this
  12. After our annual IECA conference in Detroit last month, Jan visited Michigan State University. This large research university has really figured out how to create smaller communities for its students. Read our review.
